Top 6

Top 6 for the Week:
(Our vacation was SO much fun and took up FOUR days of the week).

6.  COLD.  I'm not sure where the hot weather went...but I don't mind the fall like weather.  AS long as we still get it IN the fall.  Felt strange putting pants and sweatshirts on.  Too bad I didn't pack enough warm clothes for the trip.  Just means less laundry though;o)

5.  Play dates.  We had two play dates this week that were playground picnics.  So nice to get out and enjoy the nice weather with friends.  Kids love these days too.

4.  Cuddles.  I had a lot of great cuddles from BOTH kids this week.  Before, during, and after rest time.  Nothing like having your 4 year old hugging and kissing you.  Or your 2 year old falling asleep in your arms.  Love these times.  SO much.

3.  Clayisms.  He was rather calm this week.  In fact, we didn't really have anything that was out of the ordinary.  He loves people.  Still continuing to connect to strangers, friends, and family without saying much.  He's SO social, yet only says a few words.  Everyone still digs his hair.  I swear he gets more comments on his hair than I do with anything else!

2.  Malloryisms.  I'm glad I have good memories of last week, because this week is seeming to be different! Ha!  She was really sweet and helpful last week.  Mal and I had a LOT of great moments together--especially during Clay's rest time.  She still continues to amaze me with her observations, love of nature, and intuitiveness.  She's definitely becoming more social--answering questions when asked by strangers or friends.  And she's interested in being part of a group.  She also has the BEST eyes ever!  On our way to a play group she caught sight of a buck in a person's driveway.

1.  Our FIRST Family Vacation.  THE BEST.  So relaxing, easy-going, fun, and SO kid friendly.  Thanks to my dear friend of 25 years, her husband, and their 4 kids.  From the Children's Museum to the amusement park to just being home and playing outdoors to thrifting for 5 hours to playing cards to sleepover haven for the girls--it was pure bliss.  Hubbies got along.  Kids got along (Helen--the oldest--was the favorite for my two.  She was the older "sister" for Mal and she doted on Clay.  Win. Win).  And Sarah and I had a MUCH needed time away just the two of us shopping and lunch.  We also had a couples date night away to which my friend's in-laws graciously watched and fed our kids.  We felt totally at ease and laid back the whole time.  We cannot thank them enough for the weekend!!  And we can't wait until next year for our 2nd ANNUAL Wisconsin trip!!

Side note:  The car ride was another story but I won't go into details of that because it then takes away from the JOY we found outside of the CAR.  (I'll just mention that we had to go back to our house TWICE once for Clay's medicine AND for once SHOES--Mal didn't even have a pair on!! Go figure!!).  The car ride there was pretty easy after that--with the help of THREE movies.  But the car ride home was horrible.  Enough said.

Hope you are enjoying your week!
I'm late.
But we are still on vacation recovery mode.

Tomorrow's August!
Yikes!
Mal starts school this month!
Yikes!

Take it easy.
Enjoy the last month:0(

Until next week,
Mrs. Newell
