I hate to admit this....
BUT,
I've been a HUGE grump this weekend.
So big, I seriously just wanted to crawl in a hole for a few hours.
Just to sulk and have an adult tantrum.
Because honestly, I didn't know what else to do!
Not quite sure what exactly caused this.
Maybe it was...
The 36 hours of no water.
The 5 loads of laundry that were piled high.
The dirty dishes.
The screaming, fighting kids.
The housework that mysteriously has annoyed me this weekend.
My NO makeup the whole weekend.
Jay mowing the lawn and hauling wood (which means more time JUST me and kids).
Because I never did my hair.
Because of the colder weather.
Because I didn't really work out this weekend.
Could have been a combination!
Whatever the case--I AM OVER IT.
Seriously.
This "bad mood" has caused me to not talk to people I would normally love to talk to.
It has caused me to talk to my own kids in a way I'm ashamed of admitting.
AND has made me wonder about my sanity!
(Are antidepressants in my future again????)
I've cried. Sworn. Thrown a fit. Taken a nap. Gotten some fresh air.
And NOW I'm checked back in.
I'm here.
Still kicking.
Thank God.
With a smile on my face.
Glad that 48 hours is over with.
Tomorrow is a new day.
AMEN.
Top 10 for the Week:
10. Tantrum. It was huge. Glad it's done. Period.
9. Sick Feeling. Coming off of Memorial Day weekend, Tuesday was a bit rough. I tried my best to eat the best I could with my sensitivities. But three parties in, and I wasn't really feeling so hot. Makes me truly believe what I am doing is the right move.
8. Sewing Love. Finished a quilt I was making for Mal's preschool teacher AND some hot pad holders--which are so CUTE! Oh and I also finished the cover for my sewing machine. I found fabric I LOVE for our living room pillow cushions. Just need to purchase and get started! It's amazing to me how much I love sewing.
7. Park Day with Friends. We had a great day at the Lawton park this week. Some of Mal's preschool friends and a friend of ours. Kids loved it and it was the perfect weather. Nana was also there:o) Which meant, I was on part time duty with Sir Clayton. Ha!
6. Summer Bucket List. I created a summer bucket list for the family and one for myself. I've done this for the last few years due to me having the summer off and trying to make the most of it! Even though I've been home this whole time, I still wanted to make sure we did the things we wanted to do. I'm thinking this could be a seasonal thing for me. Maybe I'd accomplish more?? Not sure.
5. Weird Weather. It's cold. Like really cold now. Not sure what is going on with this weather. Cold. Hot. Sunny. Rainy. Windy. Calm. All in one week!!! And enough thunderstorms to strike our water pump. Lovely. 70's are projected for the rest of the week--sounds like bliss to me. Let's hope:o)
4. Nana Here. Nana had a sewing class in Muskegon on Wednesday and decided to drive the rest of the way down here. It was great having her here. I always tend to get more things done. (I can't help but aim to get random things accomplished when she's here. Am I the only one that does this?) We had a chance to go shopping together which is always fun. It's strange for me to think that I am closer to my mom now than I've ever been--and I don't even live with her.
3. Clayisms. Faked a poop just before bedtime this week. I heard him out in the hallway grunting. Then he came out, we walked to his room, and he handed me his wipes. Yeah, NO poop. Seriously kid. He is SO smart. During the night a few times this week, he got up. I crawled into bed with him and fell back to sleep. The best I could I suppose. I need to wear body armor with that kid! He kicks, pushes, moves, all the time. It's painful and not restful at all.
2. Malloryisms. Our little dancer. She LOVES to dance. In fact, one day this week during our dance party, she made me sit down and be the "audience." I had to sit there and watch her. Which was so entertaining (I'm being serious). It amazes me how she can move her little body. And how she truly is taking in all that she sees with dancing. She's got quite the moves. Really. She finally gave me a chance to "perform." I loved watching the kids watch me with big eyes:o) It was cute. I'm feeling the need of a mommy/daughter day coming up. She's been really grumpy with me too and I feel we need to reconnect--without Sir Clayton.
1. HELLO Water!! I never knew how much I took water for granted. To be able to flush or wash your hands after changing a poopy diaper! I feel any one's pain who has dealt with not having water. Thank God we have ours back.
Last week of school people!!
Maybe that's what's wrong...
I'm unconsciously thinking it's the last stressful week of school:o)
Hope you all have a great week!!
Enjoy the start to your summer!!
Until next week,
Mrs. Newell
***I know I missed last week. I haven't forgotten. And have my notes:o) I'll post. Sometime.***
