Top 10 for the week:
10. Hoops for Heart. Heard my old school was doing Hoops for Heart on Thursday. Includes a staff/student game and pies in the face for teachers. Used to be one of my favorite days when I was teaching. It was great to see old students and teachers. Made me a LITTLE sad.
9. Daddy Love. So, I'm not really sure how to say this so I'll just be blunt. Mallory has Jay wrapped around her finger:o) Went to Tractor Supply on Wednesday to see the little chicks. Mal was very insistent on having a stuffed bunny. I was very insistent on her NOT because she has like 100's of stuffed animals. Jay told me he would take care of it so I walked out to the car with Clay. Yeah, he came out with the bunny AND a duck for Clay. He was shaking his head and telling me not to say anything. Mal had a GINORMOUS smile on her face. Priceless.
8. Voice. So, I think it's pretty common knowledge that I've changed our diet in our household. I mean, not totally, but quite a bit. Anyways, I LOVE it when people ask me or inquire about what I'm doing and why.
7. Night Out. While home in Ludington, Jay and I were able to meet up with my old roommate and her husband. We had a great time catching up and watching the Michigan game. It had been a really long time and we enjoyed ourselves.
6. Bible Study. Every Wednesday (or most at least), my dear friend from high school and I share a phone call bible study together. It has been GREAT. I love catching up with her and hearing about everything! Amazing! I feel like I've found my long lost buddy from elementary school--but EVEN better. What a great midweek break.
5. Recipes. Crock pot Beef Stew was a hit! Except for Mr. Picky (Clayton Newell). Also made breakfast cookies--that were not good. And my FIRST pie and it just happened to be gluten free too!! Both families (at least the people that tried it) seemed to enjoy it:o) I think it's rather tasty. In fact, I just finished another piece.
4. Warmer weather. Prior to today--the weather has been gorgeous. The kids and I even ate lunch out on the back deck one day and were able to enjoy the sandbox for a few days. BEFORE it started to snow again! Ugh. But...after tomorrow, it looks very promising. Let's hope!
3. Clayisms. Is getting rather feisty. He has this new stance when he doesn't get his way. He crosses his arms in front of him, head down, and stomps one foot. It's the most adorable thing. And it's so hard not to laugh at him. A few more phrases: good dog, no more, hat on, shoe on. He's getting there. Definitely trying harder to communicate with us and is showing an interest. Which is HUGE.
2. Malloryisms. Mallory had her first conference on Wednesday. It also happened to be my FIRST conference where I wasn't leading it! She is doing great except for being a little shy. Coming out of her shell though. This week I was also reminded about Mallory's great memory. She retold the story of when Jay brought a little grey bunny into her bedroom and how excited she was to see it. I had fancy shoes on this week (fancier than usual because of NO snow) and Mal asked if I was going on an anniversary:o) Because I only wear those shoes when I go on an anniversary. I explained that she truly meant a date. So, then she asked when she was getting a date with Alise (our babysitter). I'm jumping on that one. She also reminded me this week about calling Tipper's friend's house (doggy daycare) for the weekend. Such a smart little girl. Makes me nervous. Her momma's memory isn't the greatest. Could bite me in the butt!
1. Easter. Easter with family is always great. Had a chance to celebrate with both sides of our families. Kids loved it. But are extremely tired from the festivities. So is Mommy and Daddy.
Well, that's a wrap.
Boy is up and poopy.
Joy.
Hope you all have a great week.
Until next week,
Mrs. Newell
